Raleigh city government does not have a revenue problem. It has a spending problem. If we are going to thrive as a city and be an attractive place to work and live we need to lessen the tax burden on our citizenry. Every eight years there is a property value reassessment throughout Wake county, and in the coming year you can be assured there will be an attempt to raise your taxes amidst this revaluation. As your councilman I will be the voice of tax and spending restraint and will stand up to those who wish to increase your tax burden. I will be a good steward of our tax dollars and will always look to cut municipal expenditures first before raising a dime in new taxes.
